People always ask me, “After I complete Turbo Fire or ChaLEAN Extreme, what comes next?” Well, for starters, keep going! Just because these programs come with a workout schedule for a set period of time doesn’t mean you can’t continue on afterwards. You can start over and do the program at a greater intensity. Or, you can do what I personally do and highly recommend: a hybrid of the two!
Hybrids Take it to the Next Level
Hopefully, if you’ve completed one of these programs, you’ve found your soul mate workout – a workout you actually enjoy, look forward to, and can stick to. That’s great! But, keep in mind that our bodies are quick to adapt to any type of exercise. To avoid hitting a plateau, you have to keep your body guessing and change things up. You can do this by adding greater intensity or modifying your routine by adding something new.
A hybrid program is a great way to keep your body guessing, and a combination of killer cardio and serious strength training is guaranteed to give you results. If you’ve already completed Turbo Fire or ChaLEAN Extreme, adding the other will only take your fitness to the next level. Let me share how this helped me…
MY Results with Turbo Fire and ChaLEAN Extreme
I’ve been doing Turbo for years and years. I specifically created Turbo as my soul mate workout, something I really enjoyed and could do over and over and over. When I first started doing it, the amount of calories I burned during my workouts was obscene! Well, after years and years of doing the same workout every day, I noticed the amount of calories I burned had decreased.
My body was adapting to the workout. While I noticed that adding greater intensity increased my calorie burn, it wasn’t until I added strength training that I noticed a big change in my body. Yes, I was in good shape already by doing just one program, but adding strength training to my regular cardio-crazy workout schedule totally changed my body and took my fitness to the next level. The combination of the two kinds of workouts shocked my body and therefore caused it to change as it tried to adapt. The funny thing is, my body STILL can’t figure it out.
The hybrid of Turbo Fire and ChaLEAN Extreme works! Simple as that! So, if you’ve completed one of the two (or even both), and you’re wondering where to go next, a HYBRID is your answer! You’ll be amazed at the results!

I have been doing a hybrid of Turbo and CE for awhile now and I am looking for something new. I too had a really hard time losing weight until I added heavy weight training like CE. I am wondering if you will be coming out with a CE 2 or if there is another similar program you can recommend for me. I have been unable to find anything. I have tried P90X and did not like it as much as CE. Thanks.

I agree with Lisa! Please Please Please Turbo Fire 2 and CE2!

I am winding up week one of Insanity/The Asylum. Which by the way is kicking my butt. I completed Chalene Extreme as one of my 1st workouts. I started Turbo Fire but never completed the full 90 day workout program. I was thinking of jumping into a Hybrid of Chalene Extreme and Turbo Fire at my 30 day challenge with Insanity. Or should I do the full night of Turbo Fire First and then the Hybrid?
Wendy West says
Few typos sorry, question was should I do the full Turbo Fire program first before starting a Hybrid of the two? Thank you.

I also wanted to do a hybrid before doing the full TF schedule and am really glad I didn’t. Even though I’d done TJ a few times, TF is more intense and I needed the time to get accustomed to it. Had I jumped right into the hybrid, I think I would have been discouraged on the TF days of the schedule since I wouldn’t really know the routines and wouldn’t be able to dive in and work out intensely.
If you really feel like you need the hybrid, do yourself a favor and do a month or six weeks of the TF schedule first so you are used to the moves, pacing and intensity. Then you’ll be able to do the hybrid with all you’ve got!

Adding this, too…if you do a full schedule of one of the programs as the admin suggests, then you’ll know the results you can expect from each program and will be better equipped to mix them up.
admin says
You might want to complete one program first before doing a hybrid.

I’ve done all of your programs, I think each one I’ve seen great results. But, I would love to see a new edition come out. maybe 2013?

Please, please, please Chalene…..you’ve gotten us all hooked. I even have my HUSBAND doing this workout with me, and I NEVER thought he would do it. You absolutely MUST come out with a CE2. You are the ONE trainer out there who has a reasonable length program grounded in biomechanics, kinesiology and common sense. No question, it works. You are an unmatched motivator. PLEASE!!!

Doing the TF / CLE hybrid right now and loving it! I’m combining it with running and my legs never looked this good! Thank you Chalene for pushing me and motivating me to be GREAT! <3
Gladis says
Irene, I had the same question. Did you just finished CLE? I want to do the combination program, but I want to make sure that I’m not going to loose any benefit?
I started TF the class schedule, but want to combine the program, I don’t want to lose any defination on my arms. What do you think?
Christina says
I had the same concern after finishing CE and starting TF, but had no trouble maintaining definition. I think I lost a little bit of strength, but only a little bit. And it was okay in the long run because it made my second round of CE challenging again.

If you are looking for other workout videos with Chalene, I know she has the following: Turbo Jam, Turbo Kick, Hip Hop Hustle, PIYo. It may not be what you are looking for but Chalene is the instructor. I too have been doing her workouts since 2006 and thoroughly enjoy her presence. She really makes everyone feel like they are part of the group and that each person is special. I hope this helps!

I recently finished Chalean extreme and started TF. I noticed that there’ a hybrid schedule where both programs are combined. I wanted to ask whether, I should start the Hybrid program, since I already completed chalean extreme. Please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you

Chalene – I LOVE your workouts – I really am ready for a new one. Have completed Turbo Fire and Extreme several times.
Kristen says
Hi Chalene,
Any chance you would consider doing a hip hop instructional video series? You are such a talented dancer and I think there would be a good market opportunity for it…there’s not enough out there!

I just started CE and was wondering on the “Rest Days” should I do my own workouts ie., treadmill, eliptical, etc or should I really rest and follow the CE tapes as directed.
Or maybe even do 30 minutes of cardio prior to starting the CE tape?
Any recommendations?

Turbo Fire 2 PLEASE!!!!
Natasha says
Peace and love Chalene!!! Been a fan for over 5 years…doing ChaLEAN for about 4 years. I love Turbo Jam but ChaLEAN really did me well…I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve done the circuit. I started long distance running, so it went on the waste side…big mistake and my physique and strength suffered. I’ve found a good balance but I am ready for a mix up….ChaLEAN 2.0?

I have finished Chalean Extreme and I am wondering if I should go straight into Turbo Fire or start with the hybrid schedule. I have the BOD on demand and therefore have access to what is best.

I love Turbofire, and would like to incorporate Piyo. (I have done Piyo a couple of times and have the strength slides). I am looking for a hybrid. Will you be putting one out? They are all over the Internet, but I have not found one that appears to have the intensity I am looking for.
Ps- keep doing what you do. You rock!!!!
