Girlfriend! If “no time” is keeping you off social media (but you know you need it to grow your biz), listen up! You need to schedule your social media updates and posts all at once, for future dates. Hootsuite is a social media dashboard and a major time-saver. You can schedule your Tweets and Facebook posts and simply open it once a day! It can be used from a mobile application, like your smartphone, AND manage your social networking.
Here’s How I do It…
I schedule a time every day to sit down and plot my social networking media. I choose to do this in the evening. At 9 p.m. every night I open Hootsuite and schedule my Facebook and Twitter. I look at my calendar to see what I have the next day and might want to post something about my schedule. Sometimes I say something about myself, and then ask a question. “I love to listen to inspirational books in the car. What are some of your favorites?” Or, “When I hear the “Fame” theme song I am transported back to 1982. What really takes you back?”
You’re going to want to brainstorm some good conversation starters. Think of the covers of glossy magazines and the topics that the editors put on the covers. They make you want to purchase the magazine so you can find out the “five best fat-blasting foods” or “six sexy ways to surprise your spouse tonight.” You want your messages to be just as exciting, and to really grab the attention of the reader. You want their eyes and thoughts on you for that moment.
Link to your Top Place
Once a day, I like to link to my site. If I schedule links through Hootsuite, it keeps track of the stats and I can see how many people clicked through by creating a tiny URL. (I love this!) It is helpful in learning which messages get the most attention. I think about what interests me, and what might be on the minds of my followers. I want to find the perfect way to compose my Tweets and am constantly checking the stats and reusing messages that got a great response by scheduling them to appear a month later at a different time of the day. Before you know it, you will have a list of messages that work for you and can be updated and altered to meet your needs daily.
If you don’t know where to start with your messages, look at others! Feel free to follow me and look at my Facebook page to see what I am tweeting, and model your tweets after others whom you admire!

And how MANY platforms must you be on? I get into that topic here.

I have the free hootesuite account but have on my to do list to upgrade to it paid service so I can manage mulitple facebook and twitter accounts. I was recently hired by a company to manage their facebook page, I volunteered to start one for my church, I already managed one for another company. As I progress with my own beachbody business this tool is going to be so valuable. Lets’s face it – facebook can suck you right in and next thing you know its hours later and you have done nothing but look at postings. Not that there is anything wrong with spending fun time on facebook. I love to see how other companies are using facebook. Time spent on fb needs to be managed.

Cool! I actually schedule mine out for a couple of days b/c I don’t always have the time every night to do it. I actually have a theme and/or product for the day so that my scheduled posts are cohesive. Today it was about Shakeology and goals.
