We all know and love social media, but when it comes to applying it to your business, it can get tricky. There are several ways to hone in on the business side of social media, including podcasts, websites and blogs. Think of these as examples of people who are already doing it right. Their examples are great learning opportunities, and most of their information can be applied to your situation. Plus, becoming a subscriber of their podcast or blog may give you ideas for your own podcasts or blogs, along with the insight they’re providing from their experiences. While I have a huge list of social media resources I follow, here are my favorites.
For all the resources listed, it’s a good idea to check their sites at least twice a month. And once a week if you can swing it. Also, become subscribers to their newsletters. Checking in with others helps solidify your approach to social media and keeps you in the loop with how things are changing and being modified to fit businesses.
Podcasts
The Social Media Examiner is a great podcast and blog to follow for all your up to date information about all things social media. Run by Michael Stelzner, he provides loads of resources on the topic. Both his blog and podcast provide overview information about things like Twitter, but also detailed information like how to use direct messaging or blogging to benefit your business.
The School of Greatness podcast is a great option for those who are looking for information about social media, but also information about everything great. Lewis Howes provides great insights into a mix of everything business related, from how to use your passion to grow your brand to how to boost productivity.

Websites
Along with all the websites for those listed above, a great resource is TechCrunch.com. Techcrunch operates as a sort of news site for all the latest updates on technology information, including social media. If you’ve heard about anything related to social media, like ordering pizza on Twitter, or of the latest Apple gadget, TechCrunch has an article about it. This site is technology focused, not specifically social media focused. But if you’re looking for a way to keep up with the ever-changing realm of social media this is a great place to check in.
