Many of us have an aversion to talking about money. We were taught it’s not polite. Our parents said that it was rude. And so many people go about life afraid to even bring the topic up. But, that’s not going to work anymore. It’s a limiting belief and you MUST get over it. Money anxiety prevents you from asking for what you’re worth. And that creates more stress for you. And resentment. So get over money anxiety today!
Know your Worth
If you value you the work you do, others will too. It’s that simple. When you’re anxious about putting a price on something, you’re telling yourself and others that you’re not worth it. There is some remnant of belief that we should be doing everyone favors so that they will like. Some of us think that our work and passion is just a hobby.
One of the best things you can do to increase your income and build wealth is to get over your anxiety about money. Does panic set in when you haggle over the price of a new car? Do you fumble for a tip for the pizza delivery driver and hand it over as if you’re embarrassed? Trust me, your gardener, babysitter and hairdresser may love their jobs, but they really love that they are getting paid for performing a service. Don’t be afraid to talk payment with them, and don’t be afraid to talk payment for your own work.
Don’t we value the things that are more expensive? Lower priced items feel “less than.” We perceive things with a higher price tag as having or adding more value. We’re often skeptical of prices that are too low. Consider adding value to your work by charging enough to make it seem important. You have a skill that others want to pay you for. You know your value. Now you just need to charge for it!

Great post! very inspirational. I feel like one of those people that want to make sure everyone likes her, so I do favors of things that I love to do like planning weddings and cooking for people just because I love it and I don’t charge anything for it. I usually do it as favors but it backfires because I feel that I can never amke a living with my passions. After reading this I am going to start planning a better way doing what I love and getting paid for it!

This is really exciting! I don’t think you’ve considered the human factor, but I still think you make a lot of sense.
