If your business is starting to grow and you are at the point of needing help, you’re in the right place. So how do I hire a virtual assistant? What is so great about hiring a virtual assistant is that there are amazing people out there who want to do great work for your company, and the fact that it’s virtual makes it much more affordable.
I know me uttering the word permanent might freak you out, but know that nothing is truly permanent and if you ever got to a place where their services were no longer needed, you could just let them go. But the ultimate goal is to hopefully find you someone who becomes an integral part of your team.
It’s important to think about an online hire as a team member. The more they feel like they are a part of your team, the more they are going to care about your business.
When hiring online help, most want to just hire someone temporarily or for a single job. But know that this approach is a completely different type of experience.
So where do you go to get online help? Formerly ODesk and Elance have joined forces into Upwork. They have been combined into one online job searching tool. A helpful tip in regards to the range of quotes you’ll receive is when you go to post a job, you’ll get someone who says they can do it for a dollar, and another person that says they can do it for two thousand dollars!!! My recommendation is to carefully read their reply to you. Look for grammar mistakes, or if it seems to be a copied and pasted response, these are red flags. Read reviews, but also don’t take the reviews TOO seriously. I state why in the video.
The next thing I want to talk to you about is finding someone who you can transition into working for you on a full time basis. When taking this step it’s a great idea to use companies such as Virtual Staff Finders and OnlineJobs.ph.
Virtual Staff Finders is the place you go when you are in need of a general virtual assistant. It’s not where you go to find someone to edit videos for you, or someone to just code, or just complete a one-off job. It’s where you go to find someone who can oversee multiple projects.
Onlinejobs.ph a website similar to career builders. Its where you find your part time or full time person in just about any area. So this would be a great place to go to find someone to just edit videos, or code your website, etc.

Thanks Chalene for spreading the word that there is a lot of great people available to be hired virtually. I’ve had clients happy with hiring people from the Philippines and I’ve had clients who found it very frustrating and wanted someone who speaks clear English and understands the American way of life. It’s truly an individual decision. I myself am listed on Upwork also and have met many wonderful clients there, but I prefer to connect with busy business owners, authors, coaches and entrepreneurs through my Social Media Help 4 U website. The virtual world is going to continue to grow. It makes perfect sense when a company/person doesn’t want to hire full time, plus they save money. I recently wrote an article about hiring a social media manager virtually. Your audience might find it helpful.
