Hold up! Seriously! How can water taste this good! Drinking enough water every day can be challenge, because in all honesty, water can get really boring. But with recipes like these, your water is ANYTHING but boring!
My rule of thumb, is you should be drinking half your body in water, in ounces, everyday. So we’ll use 120 as an easy example; for 120 pound person, they should consume 60 ounces of water a day.
I wanted to share these infused water recipes with you so that you are more motivated to stay on track!
Strawberry Orange & Rosemary Infused water
Strawberries are high in antioxidants, potassium, dietary fiber, and vitamin C. The addition of oranges in this recipe, pack this water with tons of vitamin C. My favorite addition to this recipe is the Rosemary, which has amazing anti-inflammatory properties!
Ingredients
– 1 cup sliced strawberries
– 1 medium sized orange
– 6 sprigs of rosemary
– 3 large ball jars filled 3 quarters of the way with purified water
1. Wash the strawberries, the orange, and the rosemary.
2. Remove the green tops from the strawberries, and thinly slice.
3. Slice the orange into pieces that will fit inside the ball jar.
Grab the 3 ball jars with purified water, and add the sliced strawberries and oranges. Divid it all up evenly among the water. Then take 2 sprigs of rosemary and add them to the joe. Cover each jar individually, then place them in the fridge.
Cucumber Mint Infused Water
Cucumbers are made up primarily of water, they are a great source of vitamin B, and are rich in potassium and magnesium. They contain an anti-inflammatory flavonol called fisetin, which has shown to improve brain health.
Ingredients
– 1 large organic greenhouse cucumber
– 1 cup of fresh organic mint leaves
– 1 gallon of water
Tools you’ll need
– A blender
– Small grained strainer
– Cutting board and knife
1. Chop up your cucumber into small cubes and add it to your blender. If you purchase a greenhouse cucumber, you can leave the skin on!
2. Add 1 cup of fresh organic mint leaves to the blender.
3. Pour 4 cups of water into the blender from your gallon jug.
4. Blend on high for a couple minutes.
5. Then strain this over the small grained strainer into a large jug. Add this strained liquid to the rest of the gallon of water and then divide up between your Swell bottles.
If you want to make it look pretty, then add some fresh sliced cucumber!
Hopefully these recipes inspire you to guzzle up more water each day! and don’t stop at these… experiment with the fruits, citrus, and herbs YOU like!
Love ya!
